The American Academy of Nursing comprises nursing leaders in practice, education, research, management, and policy making. AAN's mission is to provide the nursing profession with visionary leadership, focus the contributions of nursing leaders, advance scientific knowledge, and influence the development of effective health care policies and practices. American Assembly of Men in Nursing
The objectives of AAMN are to: encourage men to become nurses and join with other nurses in strengthening and in humanizing health care; support those men already in nursing and the education of society to the benefits of men nurses; advocate for men's health issues. American Association for the History of Nursing
American Association for the History of Nursing is a professional organization open to everyone interested in the history of nursing. The organization's purposes are to: (1) stimulate national and international interest in the history of nursing, promote collaboration among its supporters, and encourage research in the history of nursing; (2) Promote the development of centers for the preservation and use of materials of historical importance to nursing; (3) Serve as a resource for information related t o nursing history; (4) Produce and distribute materials related to the history and heritage of the nursing profession.
American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN)
AACN is a national association for America's baccalaureate-and higher-degree nursing education programs. Colorado Nurses Association The Colorado Nurses' Association is a professional organization of registered nurses in Colorado. It is a constituent of the American Nurses' Association. The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS)
CGFNS operates programs that evaluate the education and licensure of internationally-educated nurses and other health care professionals who wish to practice in the U.S. The CGFNS Certification Program includes a credentials evaluation, a test of nursing knowledge that is administered twice a year throughout the world, and an English language proficiency examination. The Credentials Evaluation Service provides a report that analyzes the international education and licensure of applicants in terms of U.S. comparability.
